Lawrence Park Township is a First-Class Township located just East of Erie, Pa.  We are seeking an experienced individual to fill the position of Fiscal Administrator, more commonly known as Accountant. This person will report directly to the five-member Board of Commissioners (BOC).

This position:

– Is a part time, non-exempt position

– Must be able to interface with township employees as well as other municipal, county and state level accounting personnel.

– Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in an accountant position

– Computer literate: Microsoft (Power Point, Word, Excel).

– Experience with Quickbooks a must

 

The following skills and competencies are requirements of this position:

– Prepare bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll

– File quarterly payroll taxes

– Prepare W-2s

– Calculate sewer rates for WABTEC and send invoices.

– Pay pension withholdings to investment companies

– Report finances to the banks and other funders

– Accounts Payable for seven QuickBooks companies and reconcile between the accounts

– Prepare for annual audits and work directly with the auditors

– Assist with Budgeting as needed

– Review and sign off on monthly bank reconciliations done by treasurer

– Assist in applying for Grants where possible

– Review expenses versus budgets

– Reconcile costs between funds and request transfers of funds to cover the costs when needed

– Perform duties of the Treasurer: cash receipts, deposits, bank reconciliations and transfers.

– Other duties as assigned
