Lawrence Park Township is a First-Class Township located just East of Erie, Pa. We are seeking an experienced leader to fill the position of Township Manager. This is a newly created position that will be appointed by and report directly to the five-member Board of Commissioners (BOC).

This position:

· Is a full time, salaried position that will oversee the day-to-day operations of the township. This includes but is not limited to administrative and financial staff, planning and zoning, waste removal services, parks & recreations, maintenance & public works.

· Is a highly visible position within the community that is responsible for implementing policies set by the BOC.

· Must be able to interface with not only the township employees but other municipal, county and state leaders.

· Must be able to attend various organizational meetings such as Erie County Association of Township Officials (ECATO), Erie Area Council of Government (EACOG), to name a couple.

· Must be able to attend the Township (BOC.) meetings along with the Wesleyville/Lawrence Park Joint Council Meetings and provide minutes for said meetings. Attend any other meetings as needed.

· Is exempt under Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

The following skills and competencies are requirements of this position:

· A high level of successful management experience, preferably in municipal management.

· Experience developing, managing and balancing an annual operating and capital budget.

· A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or equivalent.

· Five years (minimum) relevant experience at a management level and proven successful institutional transformation within the public or private sector preferred.

· Strong people, program and project management skills

· Computer literate: Microsoft (Power Point, Word, Excel).

· Possess a strong working knowledge of the First-Class Township code or have the ability to obtain such knowledge.

· Possess a valid driver’s license a must and able to drive a township vehicle to various locations attending various functions.

 

The Township Manager will receive a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with education and experience.
